Publishing Policy

The Publishing Policy of FNCE Academic Press sets out the basic principles governing its publishing activities and the standards applied when selecting, reviewing, preparing, and publishing academic monographs. The document is intended to ensure a transparent publishing process, high-quality publications, and equal treatment of all authors. The Policy applies to all monographs published by the Press.

Mission and values

The mission of FNCE Academic Press is to disseminate the results of academic research by publishing monographs of high substantive and methodological quality. The Press operates according to the principles of academic integrity, independent assessment, transparency in the publishing process, responsibility for publication quality, and respect for copyright and publication ethics.

Publishing profile

The Press publishes peer-reviewed academic monographs, including single-author and multi-author monographs, edited collections (including interdisciplinary works), publications resulting from research projects, scholarly editions of sources, and other works that meet the criteria for an academic monograph. Publications should be research-based or review-based and make a significant contribution to the development of the relevant discipline.

Criteria for accepting publications

Only publications that meet academic, formal, and ethical requirements are accepted into the publishing process. Assessment is based on:

  • Fit with the Press’s publishing profile.
  • Scholarly value.
  • Originality of the research.
  • Methodological soundness.
  • Quality of the scholarly apparatus.
  • Compliance with the principles of integrity and ethical research conduct.
Publishing decisions are made solely on substantive criteria, regardless of the author’s institutional affiliation, position, academic degree, or source of publication funding.

Peer review and Ethics

Every monograph undergoes an independent academic peer-review process in accordance with the Press’s applicable rules for assessing scholarly works. Independent reviewers are selected to ensure that their expertise is appropriate to the subject of the work under review and that there is no conflict of interest. Reviewers must provide a relevant declaration concerning conflicts of interest. The Press follows publication ethics principles based on academic integrity, preventing plagiarism, transparency of authorship, and accountability of everyone involved in the publishing process.

Cooperation with Authors

The Press provides authors with transparent terms of cooperation and keeps them informed about the progress of the publishing process. Authors are required to present original research findings, respect copyright, and work with the editorial team at every stage of preparing the publication.

Continuous improvement

The Press periodically evaluates its publishing processes, taking into account the experience of authors, reviewers, and editors, as well as the latest developments in standards for publishing academic works. The results of these reviews are used to improve work organization and publication quality.

Final provisions

The Publishing Policy takes effect on the date it is approved by the Director of FNCE Academic Press and applies to all new publishing submissions accepted after that date. The document is reviewed at least once every two years, or when there are significant changes in legislation or in the operating principles of academic publishers.
